Highway trail has no end

Highway trail has no end

Written by Keith Mouland

Well everyday I go riding along the highway trail.
I was born to wander beyong the sound of my old church bell.
And everynight I go looking up at the stars.
They’re all good friends of mine, guiding me far.

And every place that I travel, there and back again.
That’s the reason I keep moving, this highway trail has no end.
Mmm mmm la la la la la.
Ooh la la la la la.

Well someday I’ll stop wandering, someday I’ll settle down.
In some old hideaway, or a hole in the ground.
Until then I’ll keep moving and riding along.
You might see me in the distance, you may remember my song.

And every place that I travel, over and over again.
That’s the reason I keep moving, this highwat trail has no end.
Mmm mmm la la la la la.
Ooh la la la la la.

Holes in my pocket

Holes in my pocket

Written by Keith Mouland

Now when it comes to broken hearts I could have written the book
Plenty have tried but they never took a look
At these lines like verses in a song
I picked up along the way as I travelled along

With holes in my pockets and rain in my shoes
Spent some time with the lonesome blues
And here I go one more time
Guess I never learnt how to say goodbye

I’ve heard people say you know fortune favours the brave
And you would have thought that I’d learned all that by now
And I’ve heard ’em say you better kiss some dreams goodbye
But here am I still holding on to mine anyway

Holes in my pockets and rain in my shoes
Spent some time with the high lonesome blues
And here I go one more time
Guess I never learnt how to say goodbye
Guess I never learnt how to say goodbye

Drinking my way over to you

Drinking my way over to you

Written by Keith Mouland

I’ve been having a hard time getting you off my mind
You know I can’t believe what happened to us girl
All my good sense and my natural instincts
Are lying in that bottle on the floor

I’ve been drinking my way over you
It seemed like the right thing to do
Well there might come a time when I don’t need that booze at all
But for now this sucker’s coming back for more

I’ve been having a bad day but it’s really no surprise
It’s not like I’ve never had one of those before
A few bottles of booze well that’s all I’ve got to loose
Then I’ll finally pull myself around once more

I’ve been drinking my way over you
You know it seemed like the best thing to do
And there might come a time i just don’t need that booze at all
But for now this sucker’s coming back for more
Oh yeah

I’ve been spending too much time hanging around in bars
Making friends with the booze

But now I’m gonna’ get back on my feet again
Walk out on life’s old highway
I’m gonna’ give up the booze I’m gonna’ live without you
You won’t see me for dust I’m on my way

Drinking my way over you
It just seemed like the right thing to do
And there might come a time I don’t need that booze at all
But for now this sucker’s coming back for more
I said now this sucker’s coming back for more
Yeah I said just one more

Hold on to me

Hold on to me

Written by Keith Mouland

Hold on to me I’ll love you like I should babe
Hold on to me like the first time every time
Hold on to me like the best day of your life babe
Hold on to me let’s leave the past behind

‘Cause I’ve got love in my heart for you babe
And you know that it’s been there all the time
For some old reason it just kept on going
There’s no way it could ever be denied

Now there’s a borderline between your heart and mine
But I’m gonna’ meet you on the other side
Hold on to me I’ll love you like I should babe
Hold on to me we’re gonna leave the past behind
Yeah hold on to me let’s leave the past behind

Downsizing

Downsizing

Written by Keith Mouland

Don’t you ever think about the things that you have done
And ever wonder how I got along
I was here with my feet on the ground
While your name was up there in lights
Shining down all over the town

But if you ever get ’round to downsizing
And think you want to leave it all behind
If you need a friend you can believe in
Well me and my love are right here all the time

We were two sides of the same coin
But life just flipped us different ways
When we landed I was tails down and you were heads up
And you headed out for the fortune and fame

But if you ever got ’round to downsizing
And think you want to leave it all behind
If you need a friend you can believe in
Me and my love are right here all the time

Did you think when you went away
You’d be coming back someday
Well it never begged the question in my mind

If you ever get ’round to downsizing
Think you want to leave it all behind
If you need a friend you can believe in
Well me and my love are right here all the time
Me and my love are right here all the time

Jump that fence

Jump that fence

Written by Keith Mouland

Well I used to be a mustang on the plain
Just roaming free and easily
Now I’ve been tied up too long in the old corral
Just a’ hankering after the life I used to lead

Now when I jump that fence I’m gonna’ keep on moving
Keep on going ’till the break of day
I won’t even think about tomorrow
I’ll jump the fence and I’ll ride away
I’ll just ride away

I’m going a.w.o.l.
I’m gonna’ take a run and jump right out of that old corral

Now when I hear the birdies
Starting up their song
Lord I hear them singing in a brand new day
That’s when I get the notion to just move it along
And start rolling on my back in some new mown hay

Now when I jump that fence I’ll just keep on moving
And keep on going ’till the break of day
I won’t even think about tomorrow
I’ll jump that fence and I’ll ride away
I’m gonna’ jump that fence and I’ll ride away
I’ll just jump that fence
And I’ll ride away
